The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed reports suggesting that David Parradang, a retired Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, was kidnapped and killed in Abuja.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, the police confirmed that Parradang was found dead in his hotel room at a hotel located near Area 3 Junction of Abuja, under circumstances that are still under investigation.
According to the police, Parradang checked into the hotel on March 3, 2025, paying N22,000 for a one-night stay. Shortly after his arrival, a female guest visited him, and hotel staff escorted her to his room. The woman left the hotel premises around 4 pm that day.
The police report further stated that Parradang stayed in his room overnight. The following morning, at approximately 4 am, a concerned military officer, who was a friend of Parradang, arrived at the hotel after attempting to reach him. Upon entering the room, the officer, along with hotel staff, found Parradang unresponsive, seated in a chair.
Authorities from the Durumi Police Station were promptly notified, securing the scene and documenting the situation. Parradang’s body was later transferred to the National Hospital for further examination.
The police have also confirmed that the hotel staff are fully cooperating with the investigation. Efforts are underway to locate and question the female visitor who had been with Parradang prior to his death.
