FG extends civil service recruitment deadline to March 17

The Federal Government has extended the application deadline for positions in the Federal Civil Service to March 17, 2025.

Initially announced on January 27, 2025, the recruitment exercise offers over 70 positions across various ministries, departments, and agencies. However, many applicants reported difficulties accessing the recruitment portal, leading to widespread calls for an extension.

The spokesperson for the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), Hassan Taiwo acknowledged the technical issues faced by some applicants but noted that others were able to successfully complete their registration.

In an advertisement published in two national dailies and shared by Taiwo on Monday, the commission confirmed that the new deadline supersedes the original March 10, 2025, cutoff. The announcement stated, “The Federal Civil Service Commission has extended the closing date for receiving applications for various vacancies in the Federal Civil Service to Monday, March 17, 2025, to enable more eligible candidates to participate in the exercise.”

This extension overrides the previous advertisement of January 27, 2025, as well as the initial deadline posted on the FCSC website.
