Ogunlewe Suggests Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Beauty Could Impact Her Political Journey

Former Minister of Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, has raised an intriguing point regarding the potential impact of physical appearance on the political career of suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

According to Ogunlewe, Akpoti-Uduaghan’s striking beauty might be a double-edged sword, possibly affecting how she is perceived and treated within the political arena.

Speaking on Monday during an interview on Arise News TV, Ogunlewe acknowledged the growing assertiveness of female senators, who no longer see themselves as inferior to their male colleagues.

He commended their confidence and participation in political debates, highlighting women like Senator Ita-Giwa, who he said, have demonstrated remarkable leadership and influence in the Senate.

However, Ogunlewe specifically pointed out that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s physical allure could complicate her interactions with male colleagues. He stated: “While women in politics have become increasingly confident and resilient, Natasha’s beauty presents a unique challenge. It’s impossible for men to overlook her when she enters a room — it’s a natural human reaction.”

He further elaborated: “When a beautiful woman walks by, it’s almost instinctual for men to notice her, whether it’s with a smile or a glance. It’s a natural response, but in a professional setting, this could inadvertently shift the focus away from her abilities and onto her appearance.”

Ogunlewe emphasized that beauty, while undeniably a gift, could inadvertently overshadow her political contributions, as men may find it difficult to focus solely on her political prowess due to her striking looks.
