The Rivers State House of Assembly has requested the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Simeon Amadi, over allegations of age falsification.
The issue was raised during Thursday’s plenary, following the presentation of documents by the leader of the House, Hon. Major Jack. The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Dumle Maol, subsequently brought the allegations to the floor, stating, “The documents before me suggest that the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Simeon Amadi, falsified his age during his service. This is a very serious accusation, and I hope this House takes legislative notice.”
The Assembly debated the matter and resolved to formally request that the DSS investigate the claims and report back on their findings.
In his comments, Speaker Martin Amaewhule emphasized the need for an investigation, saying, “The documents merely suggest a case of age falsification by the Chief Judge. This necessitates a proper investigation into the matter.”
Following a voice vote, the House agreed to send a letter to the DSS requesting an inquiry into the alleged age falsification involving the Chief Judge.
