Tuchel Names First England Squad for World Cup Qualifiers with Key Recalls

England head coach Thomas Tuchel has unveiled his squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia, with notable recalls for Marcus Rashford, Reece James, and Jordan Henderson.

This marks Tuchel’s first squad selection since taking the helm of the Three Lions, as they embark on their campaign to secure a spot at next year’s World Cup, which will be hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

The squad, which consists of 26 players, will assemble at St. George’s Park early next week to begin preparations under Tuchel’s leadership.

A significant inclusion is Newcastle United defender Dan Burn, who earns his first England call-up. Also making his senior squad debut is Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly, who has represented England at various youth levels in recent years.

England’s first match under Tuchel will be against Albania at a sold-out Wembley on Friday, March 21, with a 7:45 PM GMT kick-off. They will return to the national stadium on Monday, March 24, to face Latvia, with tickets still available for that fixture.
