Katsina Registers 1,850 Pilgrims for 2025 Hajj, Preparations in Full Swing

As preparations for the 2025 Hajj intensify, Katsina State is set to send 3,680 pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with nearly half—approximately 1,850—having already settled their fares.

Executive Director of the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Yunusa Dankama, disclosed this during a crucial meeting with board directors, members, and the Board Chairman on Thursday in Katsina.

The meeting, focused on finalizing preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage, provided valuable insights into the ongoing registration process and fare collection for Katsina pilgrims.

Dankama also briefed the board on key developments from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), particularly the approval of Max Air Airlines as the designated carrier for the state’s pilgrims.

In a statement released by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Badaru Karofi, it was confirmed that the National Hajj Commission allocated 3,680 Hajj seats to Katsina State, with registration for about 1,850 pilgrims now completed.

Dankama also revealed that, in line with the airlift schedule, Katsina State pilgrims will be the last group to be flown to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj.

The Executive Director expressed his gratitude to Governor Mallam Dikko Umar Radda for his continued support in ensuring the smooth running of the board’s operations, paving the way for another successful pilgrimage.

During the meeting, the Board Chairman, Alhaji Kabir Alhazai, represented by Alhaji Ahmed Radda, emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration, urging all members to work together to make the 2025 Hajj operation as successful as the previous year’s.
