The Federal High Court in Lagos has directed Oba Otudeko to enter a plea regarding the charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The order was issued by Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke on Monday during the court’s proceedings.
The EFCC had previously filed a 13-count charge against Otudeko and three other individuals, accusing them of being involved in an alleged N30 billion loan fraud.
At the hearing, Justice Aneke ruled that Otudeko must take his plea before any further action could be taken on the application challenging the court’s jurisdiction over the case.
The judge made it clear that the jurisdictional issue could only be addressed after Otudeko’s plea was entered, marking a crucial step in the legal process.
Following the ruling, the case was adjourned to May 8, 2025, for further proceedings. This development has drawn attention to the ongoing legal battle, as Otudeko faces serious allegations linked to financial misconduct and fraudulent dealings.
