Clement Chinaka Wins 2025 IBB Lady Captain’s Cup in Abuja

Clement Chinaka has been crowned the overall winner of the 2025 IBB Lady Captain’s Cup, following a competitive week of golf at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja. The tournament, which teed off on Wednesday and ended on Sunday, brought together top amateur players in a celebration of sport and camaraderie.

Chinaka, playing off a handicap of 16, carded a gross score of 85 and a net score of 69 to clinch victory via countback against his closest rival.

Expressing his excitement, Chinaka described the win as a joyous achievement. “This tournament was exceptionally organised — the best of its kind at this club — thanks to our outgoing lady captain and her team. Though I struggled in the front nine, I improved significantly in the back nine and am thrilled to have won,” he said.

In the ladies’ category, Grace Agbo, playing off handicap 6, recorded a gross score of 82 to claim the best gross award, while Faridah Wada finished as runner-up.

The tournament also recognised outstanding performances across several categories, including ladies’ handicap/index (0.5 – 15.7), ladies’ veteran, men’s veteran, super veteran, sponsors, caddies, and the doubles matchplay event.
