Funke Akindele, a Nigerian actress and producer, is being congratulated for her latest film, “A tribe called Judah,” as it becomes the first in Nollywood history to earn one billion naira at the box office.
The movie star is presently being recognized for her significant achievement in the Nigerian film industry with a number of accolades.
She achieved popularity for her role as ‘Jenifa’, in a 2008 comedy-drama. She prolonged the series as a producer when she started her own version, Jenifa’s diary.
She is currently the first Nigerian to ever surpass the most grossing Nollywood film record.
The first three on the list of highest grossing movies were all produced by her; ‘A tribe called Judah’, ‘Battle on Buka street’ and ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga’.
