A$AP Rocky Acquitted in Felony Assault Case After Hollywood Shooting Incident

A Los Angeles jury has acquitted rapper A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, of felony assault charges related to a 2021 shooting incident in Hollywood.
Mayers was accused of firing a semi-automatic weapon at his former friend, Terell Ephron, during an altercation.
Prosecutors argued that he intentionally shot at Ephron, grazing his hand, while the defense maintained that Mayers had only been carrying a prop gun.
During the trial, Mayers’ attorney, Joe Tacopina, challenged Ephron’s credibility, pointing out inconsistencies in his testimony.
After three hours of deliberation, the jury ruled in Mayers’ favour, delivering a not-guilty verdict.
The decision spares Mayers from a potential prison sentence of over 24 years.
He was arrested in 2022 and had faced intense scrutiny throughout the case.
