Abia pledges improved security for residents

The Abia State Government has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of its residents. Navy Commodore MacDonald Ubah (Rtd), the Governor’s Special Adviser on Security Matters, made this statement in an interview with journalists alongside the State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, after the monthly State Security Council meeting held on Thursday.

Ubah explained that the meeting was part of the state’s proactive approach to maintaining law and order. “This is a monthly meeting that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Abia State, regularly holds. It supports all the security measures that have been implemented to ensure the safety of Abia State,” he said.

Regarding the recent killing of a businessman from Arochukwu, Ubah assured the public that security agencies were actively investigating the incident. “All hands are on deck to investigate this case, and once we have results, they will be made public,” he stated.

CP Danladi Isa also addressed the meeting’s purpose, explaining that it focused on assessing the current security situation in the state. He described Abia’s security situation as peaceful, thanks to strategic operations carried out by various security agencies to maintain order and protect residents. He recalled that a similar meeting in November last year led to special security operations across Aba, Umuahia, and other local government areas, ensuring a peaceful festive season.

The Commissioner assured the public that the Police Command would continue working closely with other security agencies to protect residents and urged the community to stay vigilant and cooperate with authorities.

He emphasized that the police remain committed to ensuring peace and security across Abia State.
