Actor Patrick Doyle Criticizes Sophia Egbueje for Flaunting Lamborghini Amid Controversy

Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has condemned socialite Sophia Egbueje for flaunting her new Lamborghini on social media, amid the ongoing controversy surrounding her alleged affair with singer Burna Boy.

Last week, a leaked audio recording surfaced in which Sophia Egbueje accused Burna Boy of having an affair with her and failing to fulfill his promise to buy her a Lamborghini. In response, the socialite posted photos of herself with a brand-new Lamborghini, claiming that she had bought it herself after Burna Boy allegedly reneged on his promise.

However, Patrick Doyle was not impressed with Sophia’s display of luxury. In a scathing post on his social media, Doyle criticized her for showcasing expensive items, including a wristwatch and a car valued at between 650 million to 750 million Naira, while he questioned the source of her wealth.

Doyle expressed his disappointment, saying, “Some half-wits were impressed and effusively congratulated her as she smiled and flaunted both items, as if we hadn’t heard about her shameful means of livelihood.” He also added that there were likely members of her extended family facing financial hardships, and slammed the trend of glorifying what he called “iniquity” in Nigerian society.

The backlash highlights a growing sentiment in Nigeria about the perception of wealth and the means by which some individuals attain it. Despite the praise from some of her followers, Sophia Egbueje’s actions have sparked ongoing debate, with many questioning the values behind such displays of affluence.
