
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three individuals for allegedly vandalizing and stealing transformer cables in Wuro Dole, located in the Girei Local Government Area of the state.
According to the police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the arrests were made following a tip-off from a reliable source. The suspects, identified as Rabiu Ali (28), Muhammad Musa (42), and Abubakar Usman (18), are accused of conspiring with three other individuals who remain at large to steal electrical transformer cables supplying parts of Girei.
The suspects reportedly vandalized the transformer and removed armoured cables with the intent of personal financial gain.
Nguroje confirmed that the arrested individuals would face legal action once the investigation is completed. The state Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, praised the Girei Divisional Police Officer and his team for their swift response and effective policing efforts.
CP Morris has directed the Deputy Commissioner in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take over the case and ensure the remaining suspects are apprehended. He also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities around electrical transformers to ensure prompt action.
