Gernot Rohr, Benin Republic’s head coach, felt his squad deserved more from Thursday night’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying encounter against Nigeria.
The three-time African champions held the Cheetahs to a one-one tie.
The hosts dominated the game, but were let down by their terrible shooting.
Rohr stated that they were unlucky not to win the keenly contested game.
“It was a fair result,” Rohr, who once managed the Super Eagles said after the game.
“But we were unlucky, because we had the better chances and organization to win the game.
“Nigeria is not a team that is easy to beat. But if we had taken the chances we had with scores at 1-0, maybe the result would have been different.”
