Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have drawn a difficult group for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
In Group B, the seven-time champions will compete against Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa.
The Flying Eagles defeated Egypt 1-0 in the group stage of the previous edition of the competition. Under Aliyu Zubairu’s supervision, the team will also face Egypt in a double-header friendly later this month.
The tournament’s hosts, Cote d’Ivoire, have been placed in a tough Group A, where they will compete against DR Congo, Ghana, Tanzania, and a yet-to-be-confirmed representative from the Central Africa zone.
Reigning champions Senegal lead Group C, which also includes Zambia and two debutants, Kenya and Sierra Leone.
The 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations will take place in Cote d’Ivoire from Saturday, April 26 to Sunday, May 18.
