After two years, senate resumes plenary in refurbished chambers
Members of the senate and house of representatives are set to resume plenary in refurbished chambers.
The legislators will resume plenary on Tuesday after a break spanning more than five weeks.
The lawmakers had on March 20 embarked on Easter and Eid el-Fitr holidays. They were scheduled to reconvene on April 16, but the resumption was postponed.
The leadership of the house of representatives led by Tajudeen Abbas, the speaker, and Femi Gbajabiamila, his predecessor, inspected the green chamber on Monday.

The renovation of the chamber began in April 2022.
The Senate had resolved to use its refurbished chamber, two years after renovation began on it and according to the standing rules of the Senate, the senators are expected to sit in order of rank.
