Alex Iwobi Returns to Social Media after AFCON Backlash

Super Eagles player Alex Iwobi has returned to social media following criticism he received during the AFCON competition.

The super eagles player took a off from social media and removed all of his Instagram posts after receiving harsh criticism and hateful remarks from football fans following Nigeria’s loss to Ivory Coast in the AFCON 2023 final. The player most recently played a significant part in Fulham FC’s victory over Manchester United.

Many Nigerians expressed their unhappiness with what they saw as a “below par” performance in the AFCON 2023 final match by flooding Iwobi’s social media sites’ comment sections after the loss.

Iwobi’s Super Eagles teammates voiced their displeasure and support for him after learning about the harassment.

After being away from social media since February, Iwobi has now returned and shared a video on Instagram, giving his fans and followers a glimpse of what he has been up to in recent times. In the video, he also teased a snippet of what appears to be his unreleased rap song.

The comeback received an outpouring of love and support from several football stars and teammates, including William Troost Ekong, Frank Onyeka, and Kenneth Omeruo, who took to the comment section to show their support for Iwobi.

Iwobi’s unexpected musical revelation has piqued the interest of fans, and it is something to look out for in the coming days.
