African Music Sensation Davido has said that a new generation of African musicians, including himself, have gained international recognition because of Grammy-winning Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo.
He noted that the serial Grammy winner has represented the continent so well on the global stage over the years.
Davido, who enjoys working with the renowned musician, expressed how much he has wanted to collaborate with her.
Speaking in a recent interview, Davido said;
“I’ve always been wanting to work with Mama Africa [Angelique Kidjo], that’s what we call her, for a long long time.
“She can perform anywhere and for different crowds. And she has represented us so well, you know, on the global scene. She opened doors for new artists like myself.”
