Apple Secured Partnership with Airtel to Expand India’s Streaming Market

Apple has announced a partnership with Bharti Airtel in India to offer their premium customers free access to Apple TV+ and Apple Music. This move is seen as a way for the U.S. giant to gain access to thousands of consumers in India, which is the world’s most populous nation.

In a market dominated by streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, and JioCinema, this partnership allows Apple to expand its reach in India. Airtel will be offering bundled plans that include free access to Apple TV+ and Apple Music for its premium customers.

For Apple, this deal allows them to tap into a much larger pool of consumers given Airtel’s position as the country’s second-biggest telecom operator with 281 million subscribers. This could potentially help them compete with rival platforms that offer older movies and TV shows from other studios.

In addition, Airtel will be announcing new tariff plans that include free offerings from Apple TV+, making it more accessible for Indian consumers. With only 6% of India’s smartphone users currently using iPhones, this partnership could help increase their market share in the country.

Overall, this collaboration between Apple and Bharti Airtel presents an exciting opportunity for both companies as they navigate the competitive landscape of India’s media and entertainment market.
Apple Music is currently priced at 99 Indian rupees per month and has a library of 100 million songs.
