Army Chief Lauds Troops for Sacrifices in Tackling Security Challenges

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the officers and men of the Nigerian Army for their unwavering commitment and sacrifices in addressing the country’s security challenges.

Oluyede conveyed this message during a special New Year lunch held at the Brigade Tactical Headquarters in Tagina, Rafi Local Government Area, Niger State, on January 1, 2025.

The COAS, who was represented by the Commander of the 18 Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Taiye Ahmed, urged the soldiers to remain focused, disciplined, and loyal to the constituted authority in the ongoing efforts to secure the nation.

In his address, Oluyede emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong sense of patriotism and dedication to duty, calling on the troops to continue giving their best in fulfilling their responsibilities.

The Emir of Kagara, Ahmadu Attahiru II, through his representative, the Hakimin Tagina, Garba Bako, also commended the soldiers for their swift and effective responses, which have significantly reduced security threats in the region. He highlighted that the establishment of the 18 Brigade Tactical Headquarters at Tagina had not only restored peace but also provided a significant boost to the local economy.

The chaplains present at the event prayed for a successful and prosperous 2025, offering blessings for the continued success and safety of the troops.
