At Least ’15 Kidnap’ by Gunmen in Kaduna Community

At least 15 people have been reportedly kidnapped by gunmen in Mani village, Chikun LGA of Kaduna state.

A source residing in the area who preferred anonymity lamented that six of his relatives were among those kidnapped early Thursday.

According to this source, “15 persons were abducted from three houses in Mani village opposite Indomie company Rido Ward of Chikun LGA Kaduna state in the early hours of today.

The source, however, appealed to the federal and state governments to facilitate the quick rescue of his relatives while the incident was still fresh.

The north-west state has experienced frequent attacks and kidnappings by gunmen in recent times.

On March 7, over 200 students and pupils were kidnapped after bandits attacked Government Secondary School Kuriga, Chikun LGA of the state.

On March 12, bandits abducted about 61 persons in Buda community under Kajuru LGA of Kaduna state.

In February, six people were killed when bandits invaded Kwasam community, Kauru LGA of Kaduna.

Zakariya Markus, a retired director of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was abducted during the attack.
