Bauchi Governor-Led PDP Faction Files Suit to Hold NEC Meeting Despite Court Order

The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has filed an ex parte motion seeking permission to convene the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting. The suit was filed at the Zamfara State High Court, with Justice Salim Ibrahim set to hear the motion in Gusau.

This legal move comes in defiance of a Federal High Court order in Abuja, which barred the PDP from removing its acting national chairman, Umar Damagum. The Bala Mohammed-led faction appears intent on proceeding with the NEC meeting despite the standing court order.

The hearing before Justice Ibrahim is eagerly anticipated, as the outcome could escalate the leadership tussle within the party. All eyes are now on Gusau as the PDP’s internal conflict deepens.
