Electorates in Bauchi State have trooped out in their numbers to elect their local representatives on Saturday.
The local government council elections, originally scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. were delayed in some polling units due to the late arrival of election materials.
At the Dan Iya Registration Area in Bauchi Local Government Area, which has 117 polling units, the distribution of electoral materials did not begin until 10 a.m. and continued until around 11 a.m.
Newsmen gathered that Ad-hoc staff from the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission was already at their registration areas as early as 7 a.m.
They were heard complaining of lack of mobility to their respective polling units.
Meanwhile, the police have restricted vehicular movement for non-essential workers from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
