Benue State Governor Declares October 4th Work-Free Day Ahead of Local Government Elections

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has announced that Friday, October 4th, will be a work-free day in preparation for the local government elections scheduled for October 5th.

The declaration, made through a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, aims to facilitate voter participation by allowing citizens to travel to their respective local government areas to cast their votes.

Governor Alia emphasized the significance of active engagement in the electoral process, encouraging all residents to utilize the work-free day to fulfill their civic responsibilities. He expressed confidence that with dedicated participation, the elections would proceed smoothly and fairly.

In his statement, the governor called on both public and private sector organizations to support this initiative by permitting their employees to participate in the electoral process. He also urged citizens to prioritize peaceful conduct and cooperation during the elections, highlighting the importance of unity among all stakeholders involved.
