Bill Clinton Admitted to Hospital in Washington for Fever Observation
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton, 78, was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington on Monday for testing and observation after developing a fever, according to a statement from his office. Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, Angel Urena, assured the public on social media that the former president remains in good spirits despite the hospitalization.
This marks the latest in a series of health challenges Clinton has faced over the years. His most recent hospitalization occurred in October 2021 when he was treated for a blood infection for five days. Clinton has also undergone major heart surgeries in the past, including a quadruple bypass in 2004 at the age of 58, followed by stent implantation in 2010. These health scares prompted Clinton to adopt a healthier lifestyle, including a vegetarian diet, and he has publicly discussed his efforts to maintain his well-being.
Clinton’s health made headlines again in November 2022 when he tested positive for COVID-19, though he reported only mild symptoms and expressed gratitude for being vaccinated and boosted.
Despite his health challenges, Clinton, who served two terms as president from 1993 to 2001, has remained active in various diplomatic and humanitarian causes since leaving office. He is the second-youngest living U.S. president, following Barack Obama, and continues to maintain a presence on the global stage.
