Cabinet Reshuffle: Gov. Yusuf Drops Kano SSG, Five Commissioners
in a major cabinet reshuffle, Governor of Kano state, Abba Kabir Yusuf has relieved the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Abdullahi Baffa Bichi and five commissioners of their appointments.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Shehu Wada Sagagi has also been removed, as his office has been entirely scrapped with immediate effect.
Spokesperson to the Governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, named the affected five commissioners to include Ibrahim Jibril Fagge, Finance, Ladidi Ibrahim Garko, Culture and Tourism, Baba Halilu Dantiye, Information and Internal Affairs, Shehu Aliyu Yammedi, Special Duties and Abbas Sani Abbas, Rural and Community Development.
Dawakin-Tofa said the move was part of a broader effort “to enhance administrative performance and political retool.”
In addition to the dismissals, several members of the cabinet were also reassigned of their duties.
Several commissioners that retained their portfolios include Barr. Haruna Isa Dederi (Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice), Danjuma Mahmoud (Agriculture), and Musa Suleiman Shannon (Budget and Planning).
Others are Abubakar Labaran (Health), Abduljabbar Mohammed Umar (Land and Physical Planning), and Marwan Ahmad (Works and Housing).
