CAF Confederation Cup: Eguma reveals reason behind Rivers United’s defeat to Dreams FC

The inability of Rivers United’s players to exploit their opportunities led to their team’s loss against Dreams FC, according to head coach Stanley Eguma.

On Sunday, the Port Harcourt team’s CAF Confederation Cup matchday two matches against the Ghanaians ended in a 2-1 loss.

Dreams FC dominated the first half and got their reward with John Antwi scoring the opener off Eric Boateng’s pass.

Boateng also set up Abdul Aziz Issah for the second 15 minutes from time.

Alex Oyowah reduced the deficit for Rivers United in stoppage time.

Eguma said his side must work on the lapses before their next game.

“They (Dream FC) got their chances and converted them, especially in the first half.

We had a load of chances in the second half but unfortunately, we couldn’t convert those chances,” Eguma told reporters after the game.

“That was our greatest undoing today and I think we have to go back and work on those areas and come back stronger in the next game.”

Rivers United will host Club Africain of Tunisia in their next game in the competition.
