The Returning Officer for Plateau State, Idris Amali has declared Caleb Mutfwang as the governor -elect in Plateau State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC made the declaration on Monday.
The INEC Presiding Officer, Musa Yusuf, after collating the votes scored by parties in the elections, said Mutfwang had the highest votes beating the All Progressives Congress candidate, Nentawe Yilwatda.
Mutfwang scored 525,299 to beat his closest rival, Nentawe Yilwatda of the All Progressives Congress, APC who scored 481,370.
The candidate of the Labour Party, LP came third having scored 60,310.
Meanwhile, the celebration has erupted in the Jos/Bukuru metropolis and the hinterlands.
