Canada to Impose Tariffs on U.S. Imports in Retaliation for Trump’s Trade Measures

In response to the tariffs pledged by President Donald Trump, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Monday that Canada will impose retaliatory tariffs on U.S. imports starting Tuesday. Trudeau emphasized that there was “no justification” for the U.S. actions.

Effective 12:01 a.m. EST on Tuesday, Canada will impose a 25% tariff on $155 billion worth of American goods.

The move is a direct response to the U.S. tariffs, which are set to take effect soon.
