Manchester United equaled an unwanted record after their 3-0 home loss to Newcastle United in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday

United’s hopes of retaining the Carabao Cup was ended following the defeat to Newcastle, who the Red Devils beat in last season’s final.

Admiron gave Newcastle the lead in the 28th minute and Hall doubled the visitor’s lead on 36 minutes.

In the 60th minute former Arsenal forward Joe Willock added the third goal for Newcastle.

Erik ten Hag’s side went into the game on the back of a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Also, this was Newcastle’s biggest away win against the Red Devils since September 1930 (7-4) nightmare.

United will now Shift attention to the league when they travel to the Craven Cottage to face Fulham on Saturday.
