CBN Governor, Deputies, Ministerial nominees set for screening as NASS resumes session

The Senate and the House of Representatives will resume plenary on Tuesday after a six-week annual recess.

The upper chamber will start its legislative duties by attending to correspondences from President Tinubu, who has requested the confirmation of some appointments he made during the vacation.

The appointments include Olayemi Cardoso as the new Central Bank of Nigeria governor and four deputy governors, namely Emem Nnana Usoro, Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo, Philip Ikeazor, and Bala M. Bello.

The Senate has fixed Tuesday to screen the new CBN leaders, who assumed duty last Friday.

Tinubu also named Jamila Bio Ibrahim and Ayodele Olawande as ministers of youth and state for youth, respectively.

Other appointments are a new chairman for the Federal Inland Revenue Service in Zacch Adedeji and the board and management of the Niger Delta Development Commission.
