Chef Hilda Baci Celebrates One Year of Breaking the Guinness World Records

It is a year today when we reported the iconic moment when a Nigerian Chef Hilda Bassey Effiong, popularly known as Hilda Baci mentioned by the Guinness World Records in an official statement on their website that Chef Baci was hoping to snap up the record title for the longest cooking marathon by an individual which was held by Lata Tondon from India with a time of 87 hr 45 min.

In a short video which was published on the Guinness World Records’ official social media handle on Saturday, May 11, shown below… with a statement, “Hilda Baci began her cooking marathon one year ago today in a news story that took over the world!”

to TV360 Nigeria’s contribution in support to accomplishing her Guinness World Records for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, cooking with 93 hours 11 minutes in Tuesday, May 16, 2023, which was surpassed later that year by Irish chef Alan Fisher with 119 hours, 57 minutes on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

Chef Baci made an emotional statement on her Instagram page thanking the Presidency, various State Governments, the media, musical artist and other who encouraged her to attain her Guinness World Records for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

“Today marks a milestone of gratitude as I reflect on my incredible journey of the Hilda Baci Cookathon. How does one express gratitude to the world?

“I can only try, even though I say thank you a million times, it will never be enough!

“With every fiber of my being, I extend my deepest gratitude to every soul who supported me and graced my journey. From the whispers of encouragement to the thunderous applause, from the digital waves of support to the tangible embrace of friendship— For every performance, every call, every post, every donation— Your presence, your essence, your love made this an unforgettable journey.

“To my friends, my team, my family, The Presidency, The Ministries, State Governments, The media, our international friends, community, Brands, Various organizations, every single soul and voice who lent their light to my journey, you’ve illuminated my path beyond measure and I am eternally grateful.

“With heartfelt sincerity, I thank you from the depths of my being for gracing my world with your infinite love and unwavering support. I hope in this past year, I have continued to make you all proud. I will always remember and cherish your support and I will always put Nigeria 🇳🇬 first! THANK YOU!” Chef Baci said on her Instagram handle.

Chef Baci was born on Friday, September 20, 1996, and she is from the Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State southeast Nigeria. She graduated with a degree in sociology from Madonna University, located in Okija, Anambra State also in the southeastern part of Nigeria. She presently a host in a television show called Dine on a Budget.
