Chippa United Boss Offers Update on Nwabali’s Future

Thabo September, Chippa United’s co-head coach, has hinted that Stanley Nwabali may leave the club this summer.

Nwabali wowed fans with his outstanding performances for Nigeria during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Throughout the tournament, the 27-year-old was linked with Saudi club El-Ettifaq as well as Sky Bet Championship team Queens Park Rangers.

Kaizer Chiefs and Belgian Pro League club Union St Gilloise have also been credited with interest in the shot stopper.

September admitted that there is the possibility of Nwabali leaving the club this summer.

“It’s not the right word to use, but of course I think there’s a high possibility of losing him. I don’t think it’s a fear [to lose him], that’s what the club is about,” September told SABC Sport.

The shot stopper joined Chippa United from Katsina United in 2022.
