Chris Eubank Jr Discharged from Hospital After Victory Over Conor Benn

Chris Eubank Jr. has been discharged from the hospital after being admitted as a precaution following his victory over Conor Benn on Saturday. Eubank, 35, was taken to the hospital as part of standard procedure for boxers after a demanding fight, with promoter Ben Shalom confirming that he underwent “precautionary checks.”

Eubank was released from the hospital on Monday, following his impressive win by unanimous decision in a thrilling 12-round middleweight bout at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Taking to social media on Monday, Eubank expressed his gratitude for the support he received throughout the fight, saying: “Well, it took nearly three years but we finally got the job done. Big shout out to everyone that supported the fight on Saturday and made it the once-in-a-lifetime event that it was. Without the fans, none of this is possible, thank you.”

The fight, which featured intense aggression from both fighters but no decisive knockdowns, saw all three judges scoring the contest 116-112 in favor of Eubank.

An unexpected moment occurred when Chris Eubank Sr. arrived at the venue alongside his son, despite having been estranged for years. Eubank Sr. had previously criticized the match-up but showed up to support his son in a surprising show of unity.

The fight took place at a middleweight limit of 11st 6lb (160lbs), though Eubank weighed in 0.05lb over the limit on Friday.

Chris Eubank Sr. famously defeated Conor Benn’s father, Nigel Benn, in 1990 and fought to a contentious draw with him in a rematch three years later.
