Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled May 7 to hear a case involving alleged certificate forgery against Odom Anita, a Director at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
In her ruling, Justice Nyako also granted the University of Port Harcourt permission to file relevant documents in the case. During proceedings, the University’s counsel, Jude Ezenwata, informed the court that he had filed a motion to regularize a counter-affidavit, which had been submitted late, and asked that it be deemed properly filed.
The plaintiff, Njoku Ifeanyichukwu, has raised concerns about discrepancies in the certificates of the FCDA Director. He is seeking the court’s intervention to compel the University of Port Harcourt to provide the admission records, departmental results, and graduation certificate of Anita.
Additionally, the suit asks the FCDA to produce the Director’s academic records, graduation certificate, and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate, all of which were used during her employment at the FCDA.
The plaintiff’s lawyer, Abiodun Olusanya, emphasized the need for these records to clarify the discrepancies in Anita’s service history at the FCDA.
