Muyiwa Adejobi, Public Relations Officer for the Nigerian Police Force, has provided explanations as to why crossdressers in Nigeria are immune to arrest or legal action.

According to Adejobi, certain cases are extremely challenging to prove. Citing rape case as an example, he said that there are numerous elements that need to be proven and failing to prove one of them could result in a case being dismissed in court.

He believed that without solid evidence against a person, you cannot make an arrest and bring charges against them.
