Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has announced a reduction in its diesel price, lowering the cost to N1,020 per litre from the previous N1,075 per litre at the gantry price.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the refinery explained that the decision was made to better serve its customers and Nigerians in general. This move comes after a series of price reductions since the refinery began diesel production in January 2024, when the price was initially set at N1,700 per litre. The refinery has reduced the price of diesel more than three times, bringing it down to N1,000 per litre, before making the latest cut.
Additionally, the refinery recently reduced the ex-depot price of petrol from N950 to N890 per litre, which has led to a decrease in retail prices by marketers. For example, MRS now sells petrol at N925 per litre.
