Ace Nigerian singer, Davido claims that afrobeat artists can now be at par with foreign “A” list artists such as Drake.
Speaking during the Hiptv panel discussion with the United States Advisory council on Africa Diaspora Engagement and Leaders In Nigeria’s Creative Industries, Davido said that afrobeat artistes were now selling the same tickets as pop and hip-hop stars like Drake.
The 30BG Chief noted that the earnings from an afrobeat single can translate to generational wealth.
In his words;
“Afrobeats Artists are selling the same tickets as Drake. Now one song as an afrobeat artist can change your generation”
Davido urged young artists to collaborate with themselves rather than chase international features.
“When you collaborate with your friends, they put their all,” he added.
