Nigerian music has had tremendous success in 2023, with Afrobeats continuing to gain popularity abroad thanks to the ongoing ascent of Nigerian superstars.
In the 2024 MOBO awards nominations list, Nigerian superstars dominated the Best African category as Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Rema, Asake, Adekunle Gold, and Ayra Starr all earned nominations.
South African superstar Tyla, hitmaker Uncle Waffles from Swaziland, and American-Cameroonian wonder Libianca joins the Nigerian contingent.
Hit-making producer P2J and gospel artist Limoblaze are two other Nigerians who make up the nominations.
