Dele-Bashiru Nearing €7m Lazio Switch

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, a Nigerian midfielder, is on the verge of signing a €7 million deal with SS Lazio after his Turkish club Hatayspor approved the move.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano’s X post on Monday, negotiations have moved to the point where the 23-year-old midfielder will have his media briefing shortly.

Born in Germany, Dele-Bashiru scored on his Nigeria debut, a face-saving 1-1 draw against South Africa in a 2026 FIFA World Cup CAF qualifying fixture at MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on June 10. He was an unused substitute in a subsequent match against Benin Republic in Ivory Coast, where the Super Eagles were humbled 2-1 by the Cheetahs.

He was a player for Sheffield Wednesday between 2020 and 2023, scoring five goals in 65 matches before moving to Hatayspor, where he scored eight goals in 36 appearances across all competitions for the Super Lig outfit last season.
