Delta State to Experience Three-Hour Power Outage Due to Maintenance

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that parts of Delta State will experience a three-hour power outage on Wednesday, January 10, 2025, due to scheduled maintenance. The blackout will occur between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM as TCN works on the Delta 132/33kV transmission substation.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, explained that the maintenance is necessary to address a fault on the 132kV Delta1 busbar. During this period, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) will be unable to supply power to several areas, including Agbarho/Eku, Otovwodo/Patani, Ughelli/Shell, Beta Glass, Aladja, Isoko/Kwale, and Imoniyame.

Additionally, customers on the 33kV Effurun, Enerhen, PTI, Sapele, Refinery 1, Refinery 2, and Warri feeders, which are linked to the Effurun Transmission Substation, will also experience a disruption in power supply.

TCN has apologized for the inconvenience and assured that power will be restored immediately after the maintenance work is completed.

This announcement follows a similar power disruption in Abuja, where the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) notified customers of a power outage between January 6 and 21, 2025, due to infrastructure work by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
