Dennis Idahosa emerges APC Guber Candidate for Edo State

 A member of the House Representatives, Dennis Idahosa, has won  the All Progressives Congress governorship primary election to emerge the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State. Idahosa polled 40,000 votes to defeat other eight other aspirants in the race.

Announcing the results, Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, who headed the primary election committee of the APC, declared him the winner of the primary and candidate of the party in the Guber election.

Earlier in the day, suspected political thugs disrupted the collation exercise, forcing the election committee to change venue.

The suspected thugs had invaded the venue overpowering policemen stationed there and attacked journalists causing  pandemonium in the entire area.

The APC had a few days back cleared twelve aspirants to contest the party’s primary election. But Osagie Ize-Iyamu who flew the APC flag in the 2020 governorship poll  and some other aspirants withdrew from the race on the eve of the exercise.
