Ebonyi State Government Pays Tribute to Victims of Enugu Petrol Tanker Explosion

The Ebonyi State Government has extended its condolences to the family of the 11 victims who tragically lost their lives in the recent petrol tanker explosion in Enugu. Governor Francis Nwifuru, represented by his wife, Uzoamaka, and other government delegates, visited the family to express the state’s sorrow over the devastating incident.

Mrs. Nwifuru conveyed the government’s deep pain, particularly for the victims from Abofia village in the Ebonyi Local Government Area. The explosion, which occurred at Ugwu Onyeama along the Anambra–Enugu Expressway, claimed the lives of 11 family members, including a father, mother, six children, younger brothers, an apprentice, and a housemaid. They were returning from Anambra State for the burial of their late father, Chief Augustine Nwaji, when the tragedy struck.

In her heartfelt message, Mrs. Nwifuru offered condolences to the family, specifically to Jeremiah Nwaji, the son of the deceased. “This is an irreplaceable loss not only to the family but to the entire Ebonyi State,” she said, overwhelmed with grief.

The First Lady also prayed for the souls of the departed, urging the bereaved family to find comfort and strength in God during this difficult time.
