The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has pegged its expression of interest and nomination forms for aspirants seeking the party’s ticket for the Edo State governorship election at N50 million.
A schedule of activities and timetable for the election signed by the APC national organising secretary, Suleiman Argungu, and posted to the party’s verified X handle on Monday night, indicated that the party’s primary would hold on February 17.
The timetable also indicated that female aspirants and Persons With Disability (PWD) would buy the expression of interest form while the nomination form would be issued to them for free.
According to the notice, Youths from 25 to 40 years are to purchase the expression of interest form with a 50% discount of the nomination form while those aspiring to be delegates in the primary election are to obtain forms for N5,000 at the same timeline and venue as governorship.
Argungu said that the last day for submission of completed Governorship nomination, expression of interest forms, and accompanying documents as well as submission of delegate forms is February 5, 2024.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed September 21, 2024 for the election.
