The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo has approved the dissolution of all commissions, including the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission in Edo State.
A release by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor (Esq) on Tuesday listed other commissions affected as the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission, the Civil Service Commission, the Edo State Forestry Commission, the House of Assembly Service Commission, and the State Audit Service Commission and the Judicial Service Commission.
It said “It is hereby announced for the information of the General Public that the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo has approved the dissolution of all Commissions in Edo State Government Public Service with immediate effect.
“For purpose of emphasis, the Commissions include the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission, the Civil Service Commission, Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission, Edo State Forestry Commission, the House of Assembly Service Commission, the State Audit Service Commission and the Judicial Service Commission.”
Accordingly, all chairmen and members of the affected commissions have been advised to hand over all government properties in their possession to the most senior public officer in their respective commission.
The governor also approved the nomination of membership of the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (EDSOPADEC) with immediate effect.
They are:

(ii) Felix Osazee – Member
(iii) Linda Aliyu Omonzele – Member
(iv) Princess (Mrs.) Ikuoyemwen Ewuare-Aimiuwu – Member
Edosomwan Kelvin Iredia – Member
(vi) Stanley Odidi – Member
(vii) Tony Osazuwa – Member
Similarly, Okpebholo approved the nomination of membership of the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC). They are:
(i) Jonathan Aifuobhokhan – Chairman
(ii) Asein Ojo Victor – Member
(iii) Ighomo Egharevba Thomas – Member
(iv) Imafidon Hope Osarodion – Member
(v) Dr. Suleman Ovuehor Ikhuoria – Member
(vi) Hon. Anthony Aikpoghome – Member
(vii) Umoru Habib Frank – Member
(viii) Aremiyau Aligamhe Momoh – Member
