The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has taken swift action following a controversial incident involving operatives of the anti-graft agency at Regional Hotel in Ojo, Lagos.
In response to a viral video showing plainclothes EFCC officers forcefully entering a hotel room and allegedly manhandling a female staff member, Olukoyede has ordered the immediate arrest of the implicated officers.
According to EFCC spokesperson Dayo Oyewale, the incident occurred during an early morning sting operation at the hotel, resulting in the arrest of several suspects who are currently under investigation.
The EFCC chairman has directed a thorough investigation into the operation to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged misconduct.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the EFCC assured the public that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken against any officers found responsible for misconduct.
