Tragedy struck the Anwase community in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State, where 11 individuals were killed in a recent attack by unidentified assailants.
The incident adds to the growing list of violent occurrences in the state, which has been grappling with security challenges.
Governor Hyacinth Alia condemned the attack, describing it as a senseless act of violence against innocent citizens. He assured the public that the state government is working closely with security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent future attacks.
The governor also called on the federal government to provide additional support to enhance security in the region, emphasizing the need for a collaborative approach to address the root causes of the violence.
