Eriksen Hints at Manchester United Exit

Christian Eriksen hinted at a potential departure from Manchester United at the end of the season, stating he is ready for a new challenge. The Danish midfielder, whose contract at Old Trafford expires in June, revealed that United has not approached him about extending his deal.

“I’m ready to look for something new. That suits me very well,” Eriksen told reporters before Denmark’s Nations League quarter-final against Portugal. “That’s why I assume the collaboration is over. I’ll wait and see what offers come along, but if the right opportunity arises, I’ll take it.”

Eriksen, who suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s Euro 2020 match against Finland, has had an inconsistent role at United under manager Ruben Amorim, starting in the club’s last two Premier League matches. However, he hadn’t started a league game since December before then.

“My intention is not to stay in England,” added the 33-year-old, who joined Manchester United in 2022 after a brief spell at Brentford. He had to leave Inter Milan due to health regulations after being fitted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator.

Eriksen has made 99 appearances for Manchester United, scoring seven goals.
