Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage claims that she is regularly placed against other female artists by hysterical fans.
In a recent interview she said that supporters frequently pitted her against every rising female artist, saying that they were coming to take her “throne.”
The diva said she would go out of her way and make friends with the new female artists instead because she believes music is not a competition.
In her words;
“Fans always try to pit me against other female artists. Any new female artist that comes up, they would be like, ‘Yo, she is coming to take her throne.’
“And I would go out of my way to make friends with them [new female artists] because it is not a competition. The real competition are the male artists. I was happy that Tyla, a female artists won the maiden Best African Music Performance category at the Grammys over the male nominees.”
