FCT Police Debunk Reports of Ex-NIS Boss David Parradang’s Kidnap and Murder

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed reports that former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), David Shikfu Parradang, was kidnapped and murdered. Instead, the police confirmed that he was found dead in his hotel room in Abuja after receiving a female guest.

According to an official statement by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, Parradang was discovered lifeless in a chair inside his room at Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, by a concerned military officer friend who came with hotel staff to check on him.

The police revealed that on March 3, 2025, at approximately 12:00 PM, Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel, driving a black Mercedes Benz and paying ₦22,000 for a one-night stay. Shortly after, he requested a hotel attendant to escort a female guest to his room. The woman reportedly left the premises around 4:00 PM the same day.

Parradang did not leave his room afterward. Around 4:00 AM on March 4, 2025, a concerned military officer friend traced him to the hotel. Upon arrival, the officer and the hotel receptionist proceeded to his room, where they found him deceased, seated in a chair.

The Durumi Police Station was notified, and officers promptly arrived at the scene to secure the area, take photographs, and collect relevant evidence to aid the investigation. His body has since been transferred to the National Hospital for further examination.

Authorities confirmed that hotel staff are cooperating with the investigation, while efforts are underway to locate and arrest the female guest who last visited him.

The police also urged the public and media to refrain from spreading unverified reports suggesting that Parradang was kidnapped or assassinated, stating that such misinformation could incite fear and panic.

“We are committed to conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Mr. Parradang’s death and ensure justice is served,” the statement read.

Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
